The reason why people deny psychic abilities

There are three main areas and reasons why some people deny psychic abilities:
a), It is possible to simply not have realized this ability in yourself. For years I was aware that I was able to perceive a lot of things but I hadn’t thought too deeply about it. The first time I had an inkling of telepathy was when I had gone to a fortune-teller, whom I had seen a few times and never really got any thing much. On that day I had a lot of worries occupying my mind about some nasty politics that was going on at work. They affected me and others at my work. That day maybe I did appear a bit preoccupied or worried but I doubt it as I went there more to get my mind off things than anything else. On that day this fortune-teller told me all about the politics at work and who was affected and what bad motives there were and even described the people posing problems. I was shocked but as I couldn’t explain it I dismissed it from my mind.
Some years later, at a public talk about some healing technique, I don’t remember right now what it was, a guy stopped me in the tea break and said that he wanted to demonstrate that I had ESP ability. I thought to amuse him maybe I’d play along. He held up some cards, one by one, with their back facing me and asked what I thought. He said just say what immediately comes into your mind. Each time I said something, like apple, tree, tall building etc., he flipped the card and I could see I got it correct.. every time! I laughed and said there has to be a reason. I thought there was some trick. He said I addressed you mentally and mentally said the word for each card.. apple, tree, tall building etc. I was stunned.
Then I remembered the incident with the fortune-teller. I realized that while I was thinking and worrying on some level, she must have been able to perceive my thoughts. And I would say that judging from what she had said, she must have posed questions to me, carefully phrased to appear as simple thinking, to prompt me to think about the people involved and think about their features, what they looked like. Thus she was able to give me what appeared to be an incredible “reading”. She had literally fished me for the information. I began to realize that we do have abilities that we don’t normally think about. The average person, like I did, doesn’t realize their own abilities. And I could see that such abilities are discouraged in childhood.
b). There are people, who play foul games, to gain power and influence over others, with whom they are related. The presentation of ideas is a key part of the foul game play. I have used many, many occasions to test out these people. I have made it appear that I was presenting them with an idea to try to influence them or trip them up. Invariably I have seen the same sort of reaction. They have not reacted with ideas, possibly to not give the game away, however in every case they have given me looks that said plenty. Looks of irritation, annoyance, a“don’t think you are going to put one over me” look, cunningly looking back as if to say “you think you’re smart, I see you”, a bully look and so on. And I can say none of these looks were consistent with the conversation. All of them were made after I presented them with an idea, addressed them mentally with an idea, just as the guy with the cards had said he’d done.
Some time later when I spoke to these guys again, in each case I brought the conversation around to ESP and telepathy and direct mental perception and every one of them without exception flatly denied the existence of ESP and claimed it a hoax or said the person who claimed to have psychic abilities was either a phony or crazy. Pressed, most of them became angry and even belligerent.
c). The mainstream scientific community, with a few exceptions, deny ESP and all psi abilities. I would say the reason is because they uphold the view that reality is the material reality and that there is nothing else. Thus the very means by which psi abilities can be explained is denied.
The biomedical community in particular strongly deny psi abilities and the official position of psychiatry is that a person who claims to be able to mentally perceive ideas presented by others is insane., psychotic. I would say in the case of biomedical sciences it is their funders, who have a problem, i.e., the pharmaceutical companies. For the drug companies to make huge profits and to continue to make huge profits, disease has to be seen as physical, which is brought about by physical causes. Thus the nocebo effect is not researched. The fact that ideas and beliefs lead to adverse bodily reactivity is being denied. So it is little wonder than ideas that may be mentally presented through the abuse of relationship be acknowledged. Thus psi abilities are denied. Some of the research that is done is done with the view to water down or to apply the most difficult conditions possible to weed out the majority.
Those studies that do get done well and which show a striking effect are either rubbished by the so-called skeptics or tampered with by other scientists, those who supposedly seek to repeat them. IMO they make sure that they do not get the same results. And it is possible that they may get a fairly rich handshake for doing so by the drug companies.
For example Dr Sheldrake’s experiments about dogs knowing when their owners are coming home were supposedly not reproducible. I would suggest that it only takes a hidden threat to the dogs to cause them to not wag their tails. If the dogs are focused on a threat, and dogs are keenly aware, then it would hold all of their attention. They may still be aware of their owners coming home but would not show the signs.

Do most psychics lose their abilities after reaching adulthood?

It’s not that children lose abilities, it is that many people have it beaten out of them by their parents and society at large. Around the age of 6 or 7, children start to have a concept of how the outside world thinks of them.
The parents of a child that tells his or her parents, “I saw grandma at the edge of the bed last night”, have two options. They can say ask the child about his or her experiences, or they can shut them down with, ‘that’s ridiculous, you know grandma is dead!’ Shaming the child and forever making them feel it is ‘nothing but their imagination’ or that they are ‘crazy’ if they see something like that.
Those whose parents don’t shut them down keep an open mind to developing those abilities. Those who have been shut down, don’t lose those abilities, but they lose their belief in them and, hence, they never develop them.
Everyone has those abilities. Whether or not they choose to believe or develop them is dependent upon their own experiences, and their own ability to be an individual, rather than ‘run with the pack’, because of what the ‘pack’ believes. When a child’s psychic gifts are developed and nurtured by the adults around them, they will grow to staggering levels.
Unfortunately, however, children with gifts are often called crazy, or imaginative, or even liars, if not worse.
Regrettably this teaches the child to suppress these gifts, not to disclose what they see, feel or hear.
Eventually then life takes over: school, college, university, a job, family life all contribute to suppress and repress these innate gifts.
However, these gifts never disappear. A person will find that they know things, feel things, and see things without knowing why.
The unlucky ones end up with mental and emotional issues related to this and to the fact that psychiatrists, psychologists, and doctors never consider the possibility of psychic gifts. So prescriptions are written, medicines are taken. Some fall into drug and alcohol abuse. Most end up isolated, and labelled as weird, crazy, psychos, schizos, etc.
Some luckier ones will eventually go through some mental and emotional processes that will enable them to recognise, admit, and embrace their gifts, and will start using them later on in life, develop a support network, and enjoy a happy life.
The luckiest, however, are those that are nurtured and developed as children, as their gifts will simply grow unhindered, and their stability, maturity, happiness and self worth will be uninterrupted.
Morever,  what most people refer to as “psychic ability” is a highly focused and developed intuitive faculty in which connections are sensed among seemingly unrelated persons, events, and phenomena without the apparent employment of conscious reasoning processes. Such insights can manifest initially in the conscious mind in a wide number of ways: as images, sometimes literal (“clairvoyance”, “automatic drawing”), sometimes symbolic; as sounds or voices(“clairaudience”); as word-strings (“channeling,” “automatic writing”); or as apparent changes in body temperature, a sense of unseen presences, and/or feelingsof danger, immanence, or extraordinary significance (“clairsentience”). Then, when the receiver of these impressions concentrates upon them, they often resolve into comprehensible meme-strings, “hunches”, complex ideas, or stories best perceived and expressed by the adult mind.
As long as that adult mind isn’t blighted, dwarfed, or closed by (1) religious prohibitions against psychic experience or (2) materialist prohibitions against psychic experience arising from the assumption that all phenomena perceived by the brain of necessity must originate in the scientifically testable universe.

Do you believe in psychic abilities?

Someone have some psychic experiences, but the problem is that it is not strong enough to call on at will, and is therefore pretty useless. However, those experiences have caused me to research into others who claim to have psychic abilities of some sort. In every case I discovered that such claims were false. They were simply using the art of magicians or mentalists to deceive people into believing that they had real psychic abilities. Uri Geller is one such con man, John Edwards is another. Look into the work of James Randi, who was a magician, to prove that those so-called psychics were complete phonies simply using trickery. In fact he had a standing offer to pay anyone one million dollars who could actually demonstrate any psychic ability at all. No one has ever succeeded in claiming the money because he set up conditions that would make it impossible for them to use any magicians tricks. If they actually did have some psychic ability they would have been able to demonstrate it without having to resort to trickery and thus claim the million dollars, but no one ever could although many tried to fool Randi to get the money.
If you see someone claiming some psychic ability you can be sure it’s all about them getting money out of suckers.
Morever, unfortunately, the human brain has evolved with certain faults built in. We see patterns where there are none. If something happens, we always think there’s a conscious mind behind it. Our brains make certain assumptions without us even being aware of it and some people are willing to lie to make money.
‘Psychics’ use a technique called cold reading. They say something and then use a person’s response to give the appearance of knowledge. This skill can be learned and is therefore not a ‘psychic’ ability.
It’s a trick. Death does one thing, really well, and that’s stop people talking. Graveyards are very quiet, there are no graveyard debating clubs. Death is very efficient when it comes to stopping people talking. Death is almost like some sort of conversational off switch :P
James Randi has offered a million dollars to anyone who can prove they have any special power. Plenty have tried and all have failed. The only millionaire ‘psychics’ are the ones who tricked the money out desperate people’s pockets

The way to make use of my psychic abilities?

Doing readings and spiritual counseling are two forms of helping people that you could pursue. In terms of finding a mentor, it is not unusual for Spiritualist churches (at least in the US) to offer classes in spirituality and mediumship.
Specially, There are places who have on line help for others. This requires tedious work and often this is done to harm others unless the psychic is capable.
Civilization is advancing at a snails pace. Drawers full of gadgets, and all could be recycled but are just laid their to wait.
On summer afternoons I simply sit on my front steps and people approach the gate and almost demand to be considered as I relax in the afternoon break.
Presently, I have been closing my blinds to keep the well wishers from stopping as each of them has many tasks and has no right to my time. They have not paid at least. Yet that time is mine at the moment I give ideas up and give them some enlightenment to their own lives.
Any psychic society will show you how to put up a sign on your window.
Winter is uncomfortable for me in this part of Canada and the wandering spirits do tend to me and they do come far and wide because in their dreams travel is faster than instant.
You see you already have the sense of me. There is an abundance of me on this planet.
Clarity and clearness of thought is wonderful. Entire realities are visible.
As you assemble yourself for bed. Destroy first all candles. Nothing of fire as I tend to arrive and to stare at a candle is wasting my time. The flame will jump high( and become a flame large enough to heat the room perhaps).  This limits your ability to be a candle maker always waiting for the flame to rise up.
I test but do not test. Some of the religion always found this ide of tapping the mind to be not possible. Still so many miracles exist they desire only to call this religion.
There have been no earthquakes in Canada as such. There are earthquakes abundant in California and Alaska. Both about equally far from me.
Find the interactive map of earthquakes and observe this from time to time. Make the planet your test subject. Not those two obvious places.
The very earth of Earth rings for me and tells me things going on, planet wide.
You now need to develop a philosophy for what to do with the excess psychic energy created and divert to this Earth, never to the sky. I already have wind watchers moving other regions around.
The butterfly effect is known to weather people. This says a butterfly moving the wings will change the weather thousands of kilometers away. There is truth to this. Pick no ground with people nearby. Never close to you.
As you calmly go to bed for either nap or a full night sleep become completely in power to the psychic sense. Visit. Many sit on bed as I get into bed and this is quite delightful often.
Have no animals nearby you as they tend to become my messengers at certain times. A window to keep open is good for your health also.
When you meet your local psychic society they have no concept of me, nor should they. I show up to any place of learning psychically and grow and everyone goes happy. This is not the psychic ways. Calm, able to confound the ability as required, then your grounding spot must be changed.
Keep your own psychic energy spot private and divulge to no one.

The difference between psychics and mediums

Most all Mediums are psychics, not every psychic is a medium. A medium specializes in connecting to and communicating with dead people. Most information is about the person that has crossed over and their life. This information is used to validate their existence in the afterlife. For example, the medium indicates the person died in a fire - if the person did this would be called validating evidence that they are actually communicating with the medium. Mediums rarely predict the future or offer spiritual coaching/guidance. It's all about the one that died and their connection to others.

A psychic, on the other hand, can be broken down into many different types of which the medium is one such category. There are also psychics that predict the future, psychics that read the past, psychics that comment on the present, psychics that communicate with animals, psychics that use tools (tarot, astrology, etc), psychics that talk to spiritual guides and angels, etc. Most do a combination of things.  They typically are more about helping a client either heal from the past or create a successful future depending on their specialty and background.

Morever,There is a system such as:

Empath.  Feels someone else's emotions.

Intutive.  Feels hunches, senses when something is desirable or undesirable without getting specifics.  Usually dangerous to ignore.

Channel.  Allowing one's guides to communicate through oneself.  Different from a medium.

Medium.  Able to communicate with those who have passed over.

Clairvoyant.  Able to sense things at a distance, for instance being able to describe someone's personality and motivations, find lost objects, and so forth.  This includes the wide range of the gifts such as reading minds, manipulating others, and visualizing what happened when one wasn't present.  Clairvoyant fits most psychics.

Psychic.  I dump most abilities into this including most of the above.

My system is informal and loose but works for me.

As for psychic ability, I don't know how psychic phenomena works, only that it does.

What does it mean when you dream about your crush's mom?

It depends on how you think about it. You could think they are messages from divine entities or premonitions, that’s up to you.
But in general, the only meaning dreams have is based on your feelings and perceptions towards different things. That’s because dreams are images or sequences of images created by our subconscious, most of them based on our experiences and opinions towards something.
That basically means that if you like a certain thing, you may dream about it, because you like it. There’s nothing wrong to that dream, or to that something you like, it’s just your brain creating a dream based on your feelings/perceptions towards that something.
Dreaming and sleeping also helps memory and the way your brain functions, but that subject is too big and your can learn it by yourself doing some research.
You can read the article I gave you above to see how dream interpretation works, in case you’re curious about that.
However, Its hard to pinpoint exactly what that could mean because it could mean so many different things. Was it a sexual dream? If so, that one is pretty obvious. Dreams, as much as we like to say have value behind them, sometimes don't. Maybe something she said was the last thing your mind thought about before you fell asleep. That's very possible too. Its hard to say exactly what the dream meant without knowing exactly what was about. I hope it wasn't too weird and didn't put a strain on your friendship!,

Are psychics real?

I'm sure this is something that people are always skeptical about the existence of it, below I will offer some ideas and information for people know about the existence of the psychic clearly:
Here's what a scientist says: "Ah, I see you claim the existence of a phenomenon. Can we reproduce it? If you bring in some other purported psychics, without telling them beforehand, will they agree on which houses have 'some kind of energy' and which ones don't? Does she declare 'hauntings' on every house?"

What has happened, time and time again, is that multiple psychics disagree with each other, and you can never find even two of them who "sense" the same thing consistently. Which means that each of them is indistinguishable from rolling a die and declaring "Six! It must be haunted!"

If you could find two (or preferably more) psychics who did manage to agree, scientists could set about trying to figure out why. In the absence of that, there's nothing to explain.

Reading minds, moving objects from the distance, predicting the future. For many years these abilities were thought of being superior by intelligent people. The reason? Not enough proof. The truth? If you look in the past, you can see that these paranormal activities were constantly used in political and military services, and the governments paid a lot of money for secret research.
The most gifted paranormal in XX century
November 1939. The polish jew Wolf Messing goes to USSR, escaping from the Nazi terror. The conditions were difficult even for him, even if he had extrasensory powers, which made him famous in the Soviet Union. He went straight to Stalin with these powers. In order to convince him, he steals 100.000 rubles from Gosbank from Moscow. Arriving in from of the bank office, Messing hands over a piece of paper to the cashier. The cashier looks at the paper and gives the 100.000 rubles to Messing. Wolf Messing thanks and goes with the bag full of money to the assistant of Stalin, in the room where he was supposed to do the experiment. How did he do it? He mentally communicated to the cashier to bring him the same amount of money. Messing prepares another famous experiment. He says he is going to enter Stalin’s office, passing by the guards, which received the order not to let him enter. Confident in his powers, Messing gets closer to the office, passes through the guards who respectfully allow his access, and someone opens the door. Stalin is astonished by Messing seeing him in the room. In 1940, an important soviet official, Nikolai Bulganin, wants Messing to find a lost suitcase which contained secret documents. Being in Nikolai Bulganin’s office, Messing visualizes a bridge over a river, near a church. He clearly says that the suitcase is under the bridge. The famous Polish with paranormal powers wanted to be the subject of many scientific experiments, but the Russian researchers were terrified by the threats of communist party and they never got to any conclusion.
Michael Echanis, an American soldier trained in the experimental Jedis project( known as Stargate Project), was the best of his colleagues. He could kill a goat in less than a minute, only by looking into its eyes. Jedis project was interrupted in the 1970s. Some people gave up due to their religion, others said it was irrational and is not related to war. Everything started in 1960s when the American researchers discovered that focalizing negative thoughts on yeast inhibits its developing. From 194 samples, 151 stopped growing.
The researchers contacted the famous Uri Geller, asking him to kill a pig, as an experiment. He refused, saying: “They asked me to kill a pig using only the power of my mind. I was shocked. I love animals and I will never use my psi abilities to harm anybody. I stopped the conversation and left the office. But I repeat, the solicitation existed”.
Uri Gelled didn’t want to kill a pig, but he participated in other paranormal experiments conducted by the Americans. In the 70-80s o secret project was developed – Start Gate, following the testing of paranormal abilities of many mediums. Its purpose was using “paranormal weapons”. Uri Geller, Ingo Swann, Pat Price, Joseph McMoneagle and many others were involved in the experiments in 1974, when the technique “remote viewing” helped in drawing the draft of a military soviet base from thousands of miles away.
In a letter from 1973 to the psychologist Gene Kearney from Harvard, the researcher Igor Vladsky discloses the existence of a secret base psychic research in the N-W of Leningrad, named Black Box. At that time, the soviets were able to steal documents from big distances or to damage equipment. In the 1975, a report presents the most recent parapsychological discoveries about PK-psychokinesis. The text mentions the names of famous parapsychologists: Nina Kulagina, Vinogradova (levitation) and Ermolaev.
Kulagina was able to affect living tissues and on humans. Vinogradovas’s power wastelekinesis and levitation abilities of Ermolaev were used in order to activate or deactivate the power sources, to steal military documents or software. In 1978 is opened Grill Flame, the American Ministry of Defense program - Control Remote Vie-wing, conducted by Defence Intelligence Agency. Initially it was known by 12 people from the Pentagon and Secret Services. They had the task to spy an American consul in the Mediterranean area, from where the Russians get information. They discovered a listening post across the consulate.
In 1979, Joe McMoneagle, a famous psychic spy was part of this program, saw at the shore of Mediterranean Sea a green light that he associated it with nuclear radiations. Then it was said that an American bombardier had lost an atomic bomb. The team also discovered the place where an American helicopter crushed in Peru along with the burned bodies of the pilot and the copilot. Even if nowadays information are not so numerous, some get to us.
The Rolling Stone magazine published an article revealing that the American army commanded the trained soldiers for “psychological operations” to manipulate politician who visited the country, in order to get many teams and money for the war. “My goal in psychological manipulation is to play with people’s minds, to make the enemies to act as we want” – said the lieutenant Michael Holmes to the reporter of Rolling Stones. When he received an order to do this also towards the American politicians, Holmes refused, saying that it is illegal. Then he was sanctioned. This is an example showing that paranormal techniques are still active in military and political purposes, even if the public is mocking about these practices. So, are psychics real?

I think this is the most obvious evidence of the existence of the psychic.
In my opinion, There is a great deal of difference between a psychic and a medium. The fact that evidence can be validated later if not known by the sitter and the sitter has to call for third party or even fourth party verification is consistent with true psychic ability. There is also a great deal of scientific research that has now gone as far as to validate the very real presence of abilities beyond the normal senses. A true medium will be able to give you evidence that can't have possibly have been known or found out and that further supports the hypothesis. A fraudulent psychic or medium will clearly show themeselves as a fraud by the level of eveidence they claim to give, the generality of statements and the need to know prior information. If the individual asks for money to clear curses or claims to be able to call on spirits, they are most likely fraudulent. a good medium or psychic should be able to validate personal information and information that should be validated by a third party. This is what we call a double blind or triple blind reading. There is far more involved and I could write a book just based on this.

The way a psychic convince that they are legitimate

Each person has their own "burden of proof". Sometimes a psychic can be accurate but YOU don't believe them because they haven't given you what it would take to PROVE they are real. The best psychics don't care to be honest. We know who we are, we know what we know...and can see...and don't know and can't see. The best ones are honest. I often say, "I can't quite see the face or name or time...or...." However, I believe psychics are quickly being replaced with cutting edge technology that will answer most of our questions in a more definitive way.
I'm a very specific intuitive. I give names, descriptions and dates. When they come to pass, it creates a great track record. Humans have free will so sometimes the future will chance. I don't use this as an excuse as others do, however.
Another idea said that, If a psychic is trying to convince you of anything, then they're acting on a second agenda that they should not have. It's not for psychics to convince you of anything, nor should it be. How can you tell if they are legitimate? There are a lot of little indicators that can help point you in the right direction. A few examples are:
  • They do not try to convince you of their legitimacy, accuracy, or value to you
  • They behave in ways that are essentially honest and ethical
  • Do not coerce you into future appointments, or buying products from them
  • Do not seek to create an environment where you are unhealthily dependent on them
  • Do not tell you that you have a bunch of demons or other nasties around you, at least not without a whole lot of explanation and support around it
  • Do not give you lottery numbers or similar forecasts of winning/guarantees
About 99.9% of psychics are legitimate.  That's why frauds make the news.  We don't hear about car dealerships and mechanics cheating people because it's too common.  You have an excellent chance of encountering a legitimate psychic on the first try.
So your question should be either "Is this psychic any good?" or "Is this the right psychic for me?"
Psychic consulting is an unregulated business with no barrier to entry.  It costs nothing to say you are a psychic and simply start accepting clients, so obviously a little homework is a good thing here.
Longevity in the business is a good indicator of ability, just like any self employed person.  A psychic who has been working in their field for five years or more full time is highly likely to be good enough.  It's an indication of a strong client base, sufficient referrals and lots of practice, which you can only get by being good at your job.
When you've done your homework and found a reputable psychic, it's a waste of time and energy to mistrust them.  You'll be spending your money trying to verify instead of getting the information you want.  And it brings a bad vibe to the business relationship.  This doesn't just apply to psychics, but to everyone you hire.  No one can do their best work for people who mistrust them.
