The way to make use of my psychic abilities?

Doing readings and spiritual counseling are two forms of helping people that you could pursue. In terms of finding a mentor, it is not unusual for Spiritualist churches (at least in the US) to offer classes in spirituality and mediumship.
Specially, There are places who have on line help for others. This requires tedious work and often this is done to harm others unless the psychic is capable.
Civilization is advancing at a snails pace. Drawers full of gadgets, and all could be recycled but are just laid their to wait.
On summer afternoons I simply sit on my front steps and people approach the gate and almost demand to be considered as I relax in the afternoon break.
Presently, I have been closing my blinds to keep the well wishers from stopping as each of them has many tasks and has no right to my time. They have not paid at least. Yet that time is mine at the moment I give ideas up and give them some enlightenment to their own lives.
Any psychic society will show you how to put up a sign on your window.
Winter is uncomfortable for me in this part of Canada and the wandering spirits do tend to me and they do come far and wide because in their dreams travel is faster than instant.
You see you already have the sense of me. There is an abundance of me on this planet.
Clarity and clearness of thought is wonderful. Entire realities are visible.
As you assemble yourself for bed. Destroy first all candles. Nothing of fire as I tend to arrive and to stare at a candle is wasting my time. The flame will jump high( and become a flame large enough to heat the room perhaps).  This limits your ability to be a candle maker always waiting for the flame to rise up.
I test but do not test. Some of the religion always found this ide of tapping the mind to be not possible. Still so many miracles exist they desire only to call this religion.
There have been no earthquakes in Canada as such. There are earthquakes abundant in California and Alaska. Both about equally far from me.
Find the interactive map of earthquakes and observe this from time to time. Make the planet your test subject. Not those two obvious places.
The very earth of Earth rings for me and tells me things going on, planet wide.
You now need to develop a philosophy for what to do with the excess psychic energy created and divert to this Earth, never to the sky. I already have wind watchers moving other regions around.
The butterfly effect is known to weather people. This says a butterfly moving the wings will change the weather thousands of kilometers away. There is truth to this. Pick no ground with people nearby. Never close to you.
As you calmly go to bed for either nap or a full night sleep become completely in power to the psychic sense. Visit. Many sit on bed as I get into bed and this is quite delightful often.
Have no animals nearby you as they tend to become my messengers at certain times. A window to keep open is good for your health also.
When you meet your local psychic society they have no concept of me, nor should they. I show up to any place of learning psychically and grow and everyone goes happy. This is not the psychic ways. Calm, able to confound the ability as required, then your grounding spot must be changed.
Keep your own psychic energy spot private and divulge to no one.

The difference between psychics and mediums

Most all Mediums are psychics, not every psychic is a medium. A medium specializes in connecting to and communicating with dead people. Most information is about the person that has crossed over and their life. This information is used to validate their existence in the afterlife. For example, the medium indicates the person died in a fire - if the person did this would be called validating evidence that they are actually communicating with the medium. Mediums rarely predict the future or offer spiritual coaching/guidance. It's all about the one that died and their connection to others.

A psychic, on the other hand, can be broken down into many different types of which the medium is one such category. There are also psychics that predict the future, psychics that read the past, psychics that comment on the present, psychics that communicate with animals, psychics that use tools (tarot, astrology, etc), psychics that talk to spiritual guides and angels, etc. Most do a combination of things.  They typically are more about helping a client either heal from the past or create a successful future depending on their specialty and background.

Morever,There is a system such as:

Empath.  Feels someone else's emotions.

Intutive.  Feels hunches, senses when something is desirable or undesirable without getting specifics.  Usually dangerous to ignore.

Channel.  Allowing one's guides to communicate through oneself.  Different from a medium.

Medium.  Able to communicate with those who have passed over.

Clairvoyant.  Able to sense things at a distance, for instance being able to describe someone's personality and motivations, find lost objects, and so forth.  This includes the wide range of the gifts such as reading minds, manipulating others, and visualizing what happened when one wasn't present.  Clairvoyant fits most psychics.

Psychic.  I dump most abilities into this including most of the above.

My system is informal and loose but works for me.

As for psychic ability, I don't know how psychic phenomena works, only that it does.

What does it mean when you dream about your crush's mom?

It depends on how you think about it. You could think they are messages from divine entities or premonitions, that’s up to you.
But in general, the only meaning dreams have is based on your feelings and perceptions towards different things. That’s because dreams are images or sequences of images created by our subconscious, most of them based on our experiences and opinions towards something.
That basically means that if you like a certain thing, you may dream about it, because you like it. There’s nothing wrong to that dream, or to that something you like, it’s just your brain creating a dream based on your feelings/perceptions towards that something.
Dreaming and sleeping also helps memory and the way your brain functions, but that subject is too big and your can learn it by yourself doing some research.
You can read the article I gave you above to see how dream interpretation works, in case you’re curious about that.
However, Its hard to pinpoint exactly what that could mean because it could mean so many different things. Was it a sexual dream? If so, that one is pretty obvious. Dreams, as much as we like to say have value behind them, sometimes don't. Maybe something she said was the last thing your mind thought about before you fell asleep. That's very possible too. Its hard to say exactly what the dream meant without knowing exactly what was about. I hope it wasn't too weird and didn't put a strain on your friendship!,

Are psychics real?

I'm sure this is something that people are always skeptical about the existence of it, below I will offer some ideas and information for people know about the existence of the psychic clearly:
Here's what a scientist says: "Ah, I see you claim the existence of a phenomenon. Can we reproduce it? If you bring in some other purported psychics, without telling them beforehand, will they agree on which houses have 'some kind of energy' and which ones don't? Does she declare 'hauntings' on every house?"

What has happened, time and time again, is that multiple psychics disagree with each other, and you can never find even two of them who "sense" the same thing consistently. Which means that each of them is indistinguishable from rolling a die and declaring "Six! It must be haunted!"

If you could find two (or preferably more) psychics who did manage to agree, scientists could set about trying to figure out why. In the absence of that, there's nothing to explain.

Reading minds, moving objects from the distance, predicting the future. For many years these abilities were thought of being superior by intelligent people. The reason? Not enough proof. The truth? If you look in the past, you can see that these paranormal activities were constantly used in political and military services, and the governments paid a lot of money for secret research.
The most gifted paranormal in XX century
November 1939. The polish jew Wolf Messing goes to USSR, escaping from the Nazi terror. The conditions were difficult even for him, even if he had extrasensory powers, which made him famous in the Soviet Union. He went straight to Stalin with these powers. In order to convince him, he steals 100.000 rubles from Gosbank from Moscow. Arriving in from of the bank office, Messing hands over a piece of paper to the cashier. The cashier looks at the paper and gives the 100.000 rubles to Messing. Wolf Messing thanks and goes with the bag full of money to the assistant of Stalin, in the room where he was supposed to do the experiment. How did he do it? He mentally communicated to the cashier to bring him the same amount of money. Messing prepares another famous experiment. He says he is going to enter Stalin’s office, passing by the guards, which received the order not to let him enter. Confident in his powers, Messing gets closer to the office, passes through the guards who respectfully allow his access, and someone opens the door. Stalin is astonished by Messing seeing him in the room. In 1940, an important soviet official, Nikolai Bulganin, wants Messing to find a lost suitcase which contained secret documents. Being in Nikolai Bulganin’s office, Messing visualizes a bridge over a river, near a church. He clearly says that the suitcase is under the bridge. The famous Polish with paranormal powers wanted to be the subject of many scientific experiments, but the Russian researchers were terrified by the threats of communist party and they never got to any conclusion.
Michael Echanis, an American soldier trained in the experimental Jedis project( known as Stargate Project), was the best of his colleagues. He could kill a goat in less than a minute, only by looking into its eyes. Jedis project was interrupted in the 1970s. Some people gave up due to their religion, others said it was irrational and is not related to war. Everything started in 1960s when the American researchers discovered that focalizing negative thoughts on yeast inhibits its developing. From 194 samples, 151 stopped growing.
The researchers contacted the famous Uri Geller, asking him to kill a pig, as an experiment. He refused, saying: “They asked me to kill a pig using only the power of my mind. I was shocked. I love animals and I will never use my psi abilities to harm anybody. I stopped the conversation and left the office. But I repeat, the solicitation existed”.
Uri Gelled didn’t want to kill a pig, but he participated in other paranormal experiments conducted by the Americans. In the 70-80s o secret project was developed – Start Gate, following the testing of paranormal abilities of many mediums. Its purpose was using “paranormal weapons”. Uri Geller, Ingo Swann, Pat Price, Joseph McMoneagle and many others were involved in the experiments in 1974, when the technique “remote viewing” helped in drawing the draft of a military soviet base from thousands of miles away.
In a letter from 1973 to the psychologist Gene Kearney from Harvard, the researcher Igor Vladsky discloses the existence of a secret base psychic research in the N-W of Leningrad, named Black Box. At that time, the soviets were able to steal documents from big distances or to damage equipment. In the 1975, a report presents the most recent parapsychological discoveries about PK-psychokinesis. The text mentions the names of famous parapsychologists: Nina Kulagina, Vinogradova (levitation) and Ermolaev.
Kulagina was able to affect living tissues and on humans. Vinogradovas’s power wastelekinesis and levitation abilities of Ermolaev were used in order to activate or deactivate the power sources, to steal military documents or software. In 1978 is opened Grill Flame, the American Ministry of Defense program - Control Remote Vie-wing, conducted by Defence Intelligence Agency. Initially it was known by 12 people from the Pentagon and Secret Services. They had the task to spy an American consul in the Mediterranean area, from where the Russians get information. They discovered a listening post across the consulate.
In 1979, Joe McMoneagle, a famous psychic spy was part of this program, saw at the shore of Mediterranean Sea a green light that he associated it with nuclear radiations. Then it was said that an American bombardier had lost an atomic bomb. The team also discovered the place where an American helicopter crushed in Peru along with the burned bodies of the pilot and the copilot. Even if nowadays information are not so numerous, some get to us.
The Rolling Stone magazine published an article revealing that the American army commanded the trained soldiers for “psychological operations” to manipulate politician who visited the country, in order to get many teams and money for the war. “My goal in psychological manipulation is to play with people’s minds, to make the enemies to act as we want” – said the lieutenant Michael Holmes to the reporter of Rolling Stones. When he received an order to do this also towards the American politicians, Holmes refused, saying that it is illegal. Then he was sanctioned. This is an example showing that paranormal techniques are still active in military and political purposes, even if the public is mocking about these practices. So, are psychics real?

I think this is the most obvious evidence of the existence of the psychic.
In my opinion, There is a great deal of difference between a psychic and a medium. The fact that evidence can be validated later if not known by the sitter and the sitter has to call for third party or even fourth party verification is consistent with true psychic ability. There is also a great deal of scientific research that has now gone as far as to validate the very real presence of abilities beyond the normal senses. A true medium will be able to give you evidence that can't have possibly have been known or found out and that further supports the hypothesis. A fraudulent psychic or medium will clearly show themeselves as a fraud by the level of eveidence they claim to give, the generality of statements and the need to know prior information. If the individual asks for money to clear curses or claims to be able to call on spirits, they are most likely fraudulent. a good medium or psychic should be able to validate personal information and information that should be validated by a third party. This is what we call a double blind or triple blind reading. There is far more involved and I could write a book just based on this.

The way a psychic convince that they are legitimate

Each person has their own "burden of proof". Sometimes a psychic can be accurate but YOU don't believe them because they haven't given you what it would take to PROVE they are real. The best psychics don't care to be honest. We know who we are, we know what we know...and can see...and don't know and can't see. The best ones are honest. I often say, "I can't quite see the face or name or time...or...." However, I believe psychics are quickly being replaced with cutting edge technology that will answer most of our questions in a more definitive way.
I'm a very specific intuitive. I give names, descriptions and dates. When they come to pass, it creates a great track record. Humans have free will so sometimes the future will chance. I don't use this as an excuse as others do, however.
Another idea said that, If a psychic is trying to convince you of anything, then they're acting on a second agenda that they should not have. It's not for psychics to convince you of anything, nor should it be. How can you tell if they are legitimate? There are a lot of little indicators that can help point you in the right direction. A few examples are:
  • They do not try to convince you of their legitimacy, accuracy, or value to you
  • They behave in ways that are essentially honest and ethical
  • Do not coerce you into future appointments, or buying products from them
  • Do not seek to create an environment where you are unhealthily dependent on them
  • Do not tell you that you have a bunch of demons or other nasties around you, at least not without a whole lot of explanation and support around it
  • Do not give you lottery numbers or similar forecasts of winning/guarantees
About 99.9% of psychics are legitimate.  That's why frauds make the news.  We don't hear about car dealerships and mechanics cheating people because it's too common.  You have an excellent chance of encountering a legitimate psychic on the first try.
So your question should be either "Is this psychic any good?" or "Is this the right psychic for me?"
Psychic consulting is an unregulated business with no barrier to entry.  It costs nothing to say you are a psychic and simply start accepting clients, so obviously a little homework is a good thing here.
Longevity in the business is a good indicator of ability, just like any self employed person.  A psychic who has been working in their field for five years or more full time is highly likely to be good enough.  It's an indication of a strong client base, sufficient referrals and lots of practice, which you can only get by being good at your job.
When you've done your homework and found a reputable psychic, it's a waste of time and energy to mistrust them.  You'll be spending your money trying to verify instead of getting the information you want.  And it brings a bad vibe to the business relationship.  This doesn't just apply to psychics, but to everyone you hire.  No one can do their best work for people who mistrust them.

Does psychic healing work?

In my opinion, It can.  However it is not always as straightforward as tapping your head with a wand.
First whether you can be healed depends on your karma.  You may not be ready to release the karma but if you are the healing can be almost instantaneous.
Your attitude is a factor.  If you ask to be healed but don't believe you can be then chances are strong that you won't.  This smacks of positive thinking but nevertheless is an important factor.  It amounts to being open to the energy working for you.  You are in control of your destiny and if you want to block the healing you can.
I had a healing done on my enlarged prostate and the results were almost immediate.  Within a day my symptoms were gone and have not returned.  Since this is a medical impossibility and since the symptom reduction was demonstratable I'm now a believer.
Morever, Psychic healing does, sadly, not work.

While it would be lovely if thinking nice thoughts, or waving hands around, or even touching people in a special magic fashion did have this capability, decades of research into this area have gradually pushed it out of the mainstream of science. This is not because anyone is trying to censor it, or "big pharma" are suppressing it, or anything like that.

Psychic healing research has been marginalised as it has not demonstrated as effective.

One of the other answers refers to the William Bengston "laying hands on mice" study. He is a sociology professor rather than a medical researcher, which is not ideal, but that is OK - he's had it peer-reviewed, right?

Well, the journal he published in was the Journal of Scientific Exploration, a publication that focuses on UFOs and astrology, so it is perhaps not the most uncritical forum for this work. But presumably they do peer-review, as they say. Perhaps the study is good?

Sadly, there are numerous issues which even as a layman are obvious in the methodology used to carry out the study, the lack of careful controls in place being a  particular issue, but there are others concerns, documented here: The Effect of the “Laying On of Hands” by William Bengston. At the very least, this study needs to be replicated with the myriad methodological issues rectified.

But more seriously, the Cochrane review (the gold standard for knowing what works and what doesn't) of therapeutic touch for minor wounds found:

"That trials do not show therapeutic touch to be beneficial in healing wounds from minor surgery and that the trials are at high risk of bias."

As i know that this Cochrane review is not ONE study, as Craig Weiler seems to think. It is a review of studies, in this case of four other studies. Cochrane reviews are how clinicians and scientists know what seems to work, according to the best available evidence.

Further, if it wasn't clear enough, I have read the study: it contains methodological problems including relaxing protocols as it went along, and including letting participants take the mice home (!) and contains various subjective (and unevidenced) claims in the narrative around how certain participants were or were not "skeptics".

And as for the other studies, which Craig says show "good results" for psychic healing:

  • Astin et al's conclusion: "The methodologic limitations of several studies make it difficult to draw definitive conclusions about the efficacy of distant healing". Published in a mainstream journal. Does not show good results for psychic healing.
  • Leibovici is interesting, published in the Christmas issue of a mainstream journal known for carrying somewhat unusual studies in said festive issue. It's worth reading the letters that followed it up: Page on bmj.com as it includes Leibovici's own response, explaining his trial to have been more about methodology, statistics and commentary on whether you should test impossible treatments in RCTs. Many people missed this subtlety, or the fact the paper was a spoof, but not everyone, as one letter writer put it: "a thought provoking paper but may just prove the power of statistics, not of prayer."
  • Krukoff et al was published in a mainstream journal and described itself as a pilot study only, and includes the following conclusion: "No outcomes differences were significant". Does not show good results. We'll come back to this one shortly.
  • Radin et al does show "good results", but is published in a non-mainstream journal. Hopefully it will be replicated in a mainstream journal. I'm not aware of such a replication. Until then, mainstream science will understandably pay it little heed. Worth a quick read of Radin's Wikipedia entry, too: Dean Radin
  • Krukoff et al's follow up in the Lancet has this conclusion: "Neither masked prayer nor MIT therapy significantly improved clinical outcome..." Again - not good results.
  • Benson et al, in a mainstream journal: "...intercessory prayer has no effect on complication free recovery..." and worse, "certainty of receiving intercessory prayer was associated with a higher incidence of complications". So not just not a good result, this was a bad result.
  • Masters and Spielmans say, in their abstract "The effects of distant intercessory prayer are examined by meta-analysis and it is concluded that no discernable effects can be found." Again - not a good result for psychic healing.
  • Radin et al, published in Explore, (not a mainstream medical journal), and a small study. Neither of these invalidate it, but it needs to be replicated, preferably in a mainstream journal.
  • Schlitz et al: also in Explore, a moderately positive but fairly small exploratory study with aforementioned reservations. And even this study notes in the background: "clinical trials to date have provided ambivalent support for its [distant healing intention's] efficacy"

So of those nine papers, we have only three that are positive, published in alternative journals, and one of those is with caveats. Of the remaining six, which were published in mainstream journals, we have four that are not good, one that is actively bad, and one that was essentially an intentional spoof.
